Response of the Association to Government’s initiative of selective contracting

A few days ago, during a meeting with the Healthcare Association, the Ministry f IDPs from the occupied territories, labor, health and social affairs announced the start of the "selective contracting" process. This initiative involves selection of the service provider hospitals under the Universal Health Care Program.

The members of the Association familiarized with the working document produced by the Ministry and presented their position in writing to the Ministry on December 14. The members of the Association are ready to support all initiatives that would encourage improved quality of medical services, protection of patients' rights and efficient spending universal healthcare budgets.

"Selective contracting" is a critical process that is viewed the Association as a large-scale reform by. This issue requires multifaceted understanding and long-term work. This reform should be preceded by decisions on issues such as the indexation of universal health care tariffs, the transparency of the tariff formula, the inclusion of private insurance packages in the universal healthcare program, and so on. Representatives of the Healthcare Association are ready to take an active part in all stages of the reform.
